Position Overview:
The Database Administrator (DBA) is responsible for the management, performance and security of all data feeds, databases and OLAP cubes in use at The Burchfield Group. The DBA also manages the reporting systems and claims loading processes. Reports to the Director of IT.
Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
Leadership
· Responsible for ensuring the database-related aspects of Burchfield systems are running at optimum levels and that the data involved is secure and accurate;
· Continuously seeks ways to enhance internal processes of loading and monitoring of claims load and audit systems load processes;
· Directs the system engineers in the provisioning of disk space for the databases, creation of proper user accounts and security groups; and,
· Responsible for backups that are made on a regular basis and that all system changes are well-documented and that all database code is managed in the source code control system.

Accountable for the accuracy, reliability and integrity of all data.
Business Development:
· Design and maintain data warehouse schema, upgrade databases, design and maintain SSAS cubes, manage and enhance performance of SSAS cubes, maintain and upgrade reports, and design and build database structures to support audit system;
· Design, maintain, and tune ETL process for both new and existing data feeds; and,
· Implement data models and database designs, data access and table maintenance code; resolve database performance issues, database capacity issues, replication, and other distributed data issues.
Requirements:
Skills
· Expertise in overall management and security of databases;
· Ability to meet deadlines, work under pressure and to prioritize work;
· Focus on tracking and tuning database speed and performance;
· Ensures the accuracy and timely loading of all claims data required to support the reporting and OLAP service;
· Strong written and verbal communication; and,
· Experience in creating, documenting and communicating processes.
Knowledge
· Expertise in the use of Data Transformation Services and SQL Server Integration Services;
· Expertise in the use and design of SQL Server Analysis Services;
· Expertise in the use of SQL Server Reporting Services;
· Expert in SQL writing skills;
· Expert in relational database design;
· Expert in relational database performance monitoring and tuning; and,
· Strong MDX writing skills.

Additional Posting Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree in Computer Scient or related field; and,
· 5+ years of data management experience.
